Marine Mechanic Apprentice

Short Marine, Australia’s leading boat dealership and service provider, is looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Apprentice Marine Mechanics. If you love boats, fishing, or being on the water, this is your chance to turn your passion into a career.
About the Apprenticeship:
As an Apprentice Marine Mechanic, you’ll be part of our dynamic service team, learning from experienced professionals and working on some of the finest boat brands in the world. From fitting new Yamaha high-horsepower outboards to running diagnostics and performing repairs, you’ll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology and diverse marine engines, including outboards, sterndrives, and inboards. No prior mechanic experience is needed, just a can-do attitude and genuine interest in boats.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Servicing, diagnosis and repairs of (primarily) outboards.
- Sterndrive/Inboard servicing, diagnosis and repairs.
- New engine installation and fit-ups.
- Other general mechanical duties.
- Understand time frames and work hard to deliver on deadlines.
- Must have high attention to detail and be motivated to be the world’s best in every job you do.

The Ideal Apprentice:
- Has their driver’s license (P1, P2, or Open).
- Has a boat license.
- Is available 5 days a week.
- Has an interest and/or experience with boats.
- Is looking to start their career in the marine & mechanic industry.
